Hello world!
This is the first of a series of blog posts I’m going to be making now that I’m committing to release the mobile game I've been working on called Pebble Bay!
I’m really excited to get this project off the ground. It's the culmination of loads of work I’ve been doing over the last year or so working on agentic graphic modelling, experimenting with game design and experimenting making music for videogames.
This week I joined the Apple Developer Program, which is the first small step to the App Store and releasing the game.
Currently the game is in the testing phase. I have playtesters setup on Android and IOS devices and I'm trying to get as much feedback as possible in order to make the game the best experience possible. Whilst this is going on I also figured it was a good time to start writing about the process, interesting problems I faced and cool things I've come across in the process. I hope this will get others as excited for the games release as I am. The things I plan on writing about range from making the perfect background music to perfecting programmatic level design.
As with most things I get started on, this game started off from curiousity rather than with an end goal in mind. As it grew I've become quite attached to the little world and its characters and whilst I intend to keep working on it and updating it after release I've set myself the goal of selling 100 copies in the first month.
